Your Rating

1. Do your fans have a CSA or UL rating?

Our marine fans are low-voltage fans that do not plug into the grid; therefore, they do not require CSA or UL certifications.

2. What is the cylinder-shaped component of the cord?

The part that you are referring to is a ferrite bead. The ferrite bead is required to meet Electromagnetic immunity and emission compliance requirements by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and must not be removed. Without this ferrite bead, other electronic devices near the fan may experience electromagnetic interference when operating. This will vary with the specific equipment and proximity to the fan. You can cut the heat shrink tubing off to eliminate some of the bulk surrounding the ferrite. Arrange the wires so that two are on the side and one is on the opposite side. This will allow it to lay flatter.

3. What are your fans made of?

The body of each fan is made from plastic. Depending on the fan, the plastic used may be FR ABS or ASA. The blades are made of polyethylene.

4. Can your fans be used to ventilate my engine room, running for a minimum of 24 hours a day?

No. Our fans are not 'ignition proof' certified or tested. In an engine room, there is always the risk of having fuel and hydrocarbon fumes. For this reason, we do not recommend our fans be used in this environment. Our fans use a brushed motor, with an expected brush life of 5000 to 7500 hours. Operating the fans 24-hours will wear the brushes in a shorter time frame than the normally expected duty cycle.

5. Do you offer a fan that will turn on automatically if the power is cut off and restored? Which models offer this?

Yes! The 747/757 Ultimate Fans, 817 Kona or 7482 Maestro Fan would be suitable.

6. What is the difference between the Ultimate 747 & 757 model fans?

Our 747-model fan is manufactured with a cigarette lighter adapter (plug). It also comes with a suction cup mount, in addition to the permanent mount, so it can be installed in various ways and applications.

Our 757-model fan is a direct wire unit and features a permanent mount.

Mounting clamps can be purchased as well.

7. Are replacement blades available for the Ultimate 747 & 757 model fan?

We do have several replacement blades available for various units. You can purchase blades for the Ultimate 747 & 757 models on our website.

8. How do I install a replacement blade on an Ultimate 747 & 757 Fan?

To install, pull the faulty blade off the motor shaft and push the new blade hub onto the motor shaft. Please leave a small space between the blade hub and the motor housing so the blade can spin freely.

9. How can I tell the polarity of the wires for the Ultimate 747 & 757 Fan?

The smooth wire is positive, and the ribbed wire is negative.
